Chronology of cameras Ricoh
According to the Ricoh imaging website, the Myport Zoom 90 was released in June 1992, and the Myport Zoom 90PS was released in November 1993. These are identical looking cameras, but the Myport Zoom 90PS had the 'panorama' feature, so the Tru Zoom was probably a clone of the first one.
In a burst of candor the website says (in translation) "This is an age of sharp decline in functionality and prices". We can infer that the camera was made to a price; the buyer didn't pay for any reduction in size or weight.. The zoom lens has only four focal lengths between 38 mm - 90 mm, a total of six.
The Tru-Zoom shares the same body as the RZ-800, and it is the same thing as the RZ-900.
